Sands of Self (Video Art), 2024
In parallel with the video game installation Sands of Self, this video work was presented in the vitrine of Ygrec-ENSAPC Art Center as a first point of contact with the exhibition.
The video unfolds as a glitch-based threshold between error and narrative. Fragmented images from the game appear in a state of visual instability, where distortions, blurs, and digital ruptures generate a shifting surface. Within this instability, recurring words and questions circulate like a fragmented script, introducing the conceptual universe of the exhibition.
Rather than presenting a fixed storyline, the work operates as an interface in collapse, where meaning emerges through repetition, interruption, and noise. The glitches function not as technical failures but as aesthetic and conceptual signals, exposing the fragility of simulated environments and their internal logic.
Installed in the vitrine of the gallery, the video functioned as a trigger space for the exhibition, drawing the outside viewer into the digital ecosystem of the project before entering the main installation.
Alongside its presentation at Ygrec-ENSAPC in Aubervilliers, the work was also exhibited in Terrestrial Waves, a group exhibition in Fujian, China, extending its circulation across different exhibition contexts.
